Will I experience sensitivity after?

Post-whitening sensitivity is always a risk after a professional whitening treatment, but if you don't currently experience sensitive teeth, usually the risk is pretty low! I do offer lots of options to prevent sensitivity though. I always recommend using a sensitivity toothpaste up to a week before & after your treatment. We will also discuss if there are any specific areas that get sensitive, and I am able to see on the tooth surface if there are any contraindications to applying the gel to a certain area (such as a suspicious area looking like a cavity, gum recession with root exposure, or flattened surfaces of the biting edge that may be exposing the next layer of the tooth). I might choose to avoid applying the gel to these areas to prevent further sensitivity. We will also discuss which whitening treatment should be used for you, the advanced whitening (higher percent gel for better results but risk some sensitivity), or the regular whitening (lower percent which is great for clients with sensitive teeth). We can also add a desensitization treatment at the end of your whitening if sensitivity is a concern!
